Daren Weissfisch is the Music Director of the Lake Union Civic Orchestra in Seattle and Principal Conductor of the Tacoma Opera. He also serves as the Seattle Opera Creation Lab Conductor and is the former Artistic Director of Orquesta Sinfónica Esperanza Azteca Sinaloa. Praised by Lakeside Magazine for his “stirring performances,” Daren has emerged as an imminent figure in the Pacific Northwest's classical music scene.

His guest conducting appearances include performances with the Bainbridge Symphony Orchestra, University of Washington Symphony Orchestra, and cover conducting roles with the Issaquah Philharmonic Orchestra and Harmonia Seattle among others. Career highlights include recording Antonio Ruíz Pipó's Concierto Tres en Raya with guitarist Jean Bruno Dautaner, conducting the Sinaloa premiere of Samuel Zyman’s Horizontes, and collaborating with choreographer Mauricio Nava on Stravinsky’s L’histoire du Soldat.

An accomplished oboist, Daren was second/assistant principal oboist and guest soloist with the Orquesta Sinfónica Sinaloa from 2010-2019, performing oboe concertos by Mozart, Strauss, and J.S. Bach.
